Rape Suspect Arrested With Help From ICE Officers

On Thursday, October 13,2011, at about 1648 hours, Escondido Police Officers arrested eighteen year old Jose Manuel Ayala, of Escondido, on multiple counts of rape, child molest and burglary. A record check of Ayala indicated he had been previously arrested and was currently in Immigration Removal Proceedings.  Given this information, ICE Officers assigned to Escondido Police Department assisted in Ayala’s arrest.

The 12-year-old female victim reported the rape in September of 2011. During the course of their investigation, Escondido Police Detectives received additional information that the victim had been raped and molested several times during a 3 month period. Escondido Police Officers tracked Ayala to the 500 block of N. Fig Street in Escondido, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Ayala was booked into Vista Detention Facility for the following charges:

PC 288(a), Child Molest, (9) counts

PC 288(b)(1), Child Molest by Force of Fear, (6) counts

PC 243.4(e)(1), Sexual Battery, (1) count

PC 261(a)(2), Rape, (3) counts

PC 236, False Imprisonment, (2) counts

PC 261.5(c), Unlawful Sex with a Minor, (3) counts

PC 459, Residential Burglary, (5) counts

 An immigration hold was also placed on Ayala by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
